Class of 2005 Duke prospects

Eric Boateng |
Eric Boateng 6-10 C Middletown, Delaware
List of schools- Duke, Kansas, UCLA, UNC, Villanova, Wake Forest, NC State
Boateng is a big-bodied raw recruit. He is a tough inside defender, but has a raw offensive game
because of his lack of experience. However, his footwork has improved greatly & he has a lot of "upside" to his
game. He comes to the United States via England & is friends with current Duke player Luol Deng. Boateng plays for the
Delaware Sharpshooters AAU team.
Rated #12 overall in the Class of 2005 by Insiders.

Quotes about Boateng: " Boatengs defense is well ahead of his offense. He's a long, agile
and active 6-10. He plays hard .... "
"Hes 6-10, athletic and will not only be a shot blocker, but a scorer as well"

Jon Brockman |
Jon Brockman - 6-8 PF Snohomish, Washington
List of Schools - Duke, UNC, UCLA, Kansas, Washington, Arizona, Stanford, Gonzaga
Brockman is a rarity in these days, as he is a guy who doesn't mind playing in the post & rarely
drifts out to the perimeter. Has good hands & a soft touch close to the basket. Brockman plays with a high level of intensity
& is extremely aggressive. He led his Snohomish High School team to a 16-8 record during his junior season, as he scored
at a 22.4 PPG clip. Brockman plays for the same Friends of Hoops (Washington) team as Micah Downs. He averaged 25 PPG for
FOP during the 2004 Boo Williams Invitational. He has stated that he is wide open as far as his choice of college &
is looking for a school with strong academics, a strong basketball program, & a good coach. He is currently unranked by
either Insiders or Rivals, but that will likely change soon.

Jamal Boykin |
Jamal Boykin - 6-7 SF Los Angeles, California
List of schools - Duke, Louisville, Georgia Tech, California, Kansas, Illinois, Washington
Boykin is hard-working, very competitive, & very coachable. He has good, not great, athletic
ability. He is willing to do his work on the inside or on the perimeter & has a nice touch on his perimeter jumper. Boykin
is also an outstanding student. He led his Fairfax High School team to a 27-5 overall record as Fairfax won the CIF Division
I State Championship. Boykin averaged 19.5 PPG, hauled in 11.4 RPG, & shot an amazing 77% from the field during his junior
season in 2003-2004. Boykin plays for Belmont Shore AAU team.

Tyrell Biggs |
Tyrell Biggs - 6-8 PF/C Ramsey, New Jersey
List of schools - Duke, Maryland, Connecticut, Pittsburgh, &
Virginia
Biggs is big-bodied & very strong. He also possesses a soft shooting stroke from out to 15 feet,
as well as some polished post moves, including a nice drop step. Finally, Biggs has extremely quick feet for someone his size,
as well as good athletic ability. Has trimmed down from 295 lbs. to 260 lbs., which has allowed him to transform his game
from that of a basic low-block presence to a versatile, athletic nightmare for an opposing coach.

Calvin (C.J.) Miles |
Calvin (C.J.) Miles - 6-6 WG Dallas, Texas (Skyline High School)
List of schools - Arizona, Kansas, North Carolina, Texas, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Oklahoma,
Oklahoma State, Duke
Miles can do it all at the small forward position and is very capable of playing shooting
guard also. He can stroke the deep jumper and he can penetrate and finish at the basket. He also has a very
nice midrange game and terrific passing skills for a small forward. Many coaches see him as a point forward
because of his passing skills and excellent handle.
He led his Skyline High School team to the Texas District 10-5A championship, as he scored 23.2 PPG
& pulled down 11.2 RPG.

Julian Wright |
Julian Wright - 6-8 SF Flossmoor, Illinois
List of schools - Arizona, DePaul, Duke, Illinois, Kansas
Wright is a long-armed, athletic wing player. He is excellent at driving to the basket & is an
excellent ballhandler. His jumpshot is decent, but is somewhat unorthodox. He is an excellent defender because of his wide
wingspan. Needs to add some muscle, but not at the expense of his excellent quickness. Wright plays for the Illinois Warriors
AAU team.
Averaged 10 PPG, 7 RPG, & 5 APG during his junior season as he led Homewood-Flossmoor to
a 30-3 record & a state runnerup finish in the IHSA Class AA Tournament.
